I joined The Skirt Project to connect with amazing people and do something meaningful for the community—and for "me"! As a stay-at-home mom, it’s easy to lose yourself in the role, but this project has helped me rediscover "Meghan". I hoped to find connection and purpose, and I’ve gained that and so much more—friendships, inspiration, and a renewed sense of self.
I started following The Skirt Project on Facebook several months before we moved to Staunton because I loved the message and I was looking to connect with other women in the area as I began the next phase of my life. I have made new friends, gotten involved with the community, and had a lot of fun along the way. I very much appreciate that Amanda has created a welcoming environment—
I am the queen with the silver hair and I never felt “too old” or out of place.
In The Skirt Project community, women empower each other to feel seen, loved, and valued just as they are. You realize you’re not alone in your struggles and are celebrated for being authentically *you*. This is a place where women lift each other up because we all need encouragement—and each other!
