"Growing up being one of 4 girls, We all look a little different, but the same, with different body types. I feel like we always compare ourselves with our siblings. Not always feeling confident in the way I looked, because at a young age I got a scar on my face that made me feel insecure. As I got older I learned to love the way I looked and didn’t care how other people saw me. As my scar faded, my confidence grew but it was still apart of me. I feel a little insecure about when taking pictures, trying to find the right angles to hide the flaws. So instead of focusing about the way I looked I pushed myself more into paving the way for my career.
As a woman in truly a man’s world, in the Manufacturing and Engineering industry. I’ve strived to be better than the guys. Graduating in engineering and becoming a women in engineering was a goal, and I’m so proud of myself to being able to accomplish it. I love talking to young women and encourage them to be what ever their heart desires, and not thinking just because we are a female doesn’t mean we can’t do anything the boys can do.
I’m so glad I found Amanda and The Skirt Project. Being able to promote boss babes, encouraging other women to be confident in theirselves regardless of their age, size, or color gives me such a warm fuzzy in my heart. I love what the project stands for, and how it’s changed me as a person. I love how the project promotes other boss babes and small women owned businesses. As a woman thriving in my career as well as being a Landlord as my side hustle, I’m so glad I get to be apart of this community of equally successful and confident women, killing it in today’s world."
